University of Sidekicks

University of Sidekicks specializes in self-defense, sport competition, personal protection, fitness, and wellness. Like your home and principles, training here is the most important place where you can invest in yourself and your family. Our mission is to teach practical, life-saving skills while building focus, confidence, and character.

University of Sidekicks is a safe environment to receive high-caliber instruction in multiple styles of martial arts from Master Black Belt Instructor Renee Nolte.

Adults and youth, starting at age 3, train in personal, tactical, and self defense. If you wish to compete, you can grow your game here. We offer programs in Krav Maga, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Keysi Fight Method, American Karate, Mixed Martial Arts, and Firearms Training. Youth, family, adult, and private classes are all options to fit your needs. University of Sidekicks is also home to the TAMU Self Defense and BJJ clubs.

Self-defense training and martial arts teach you to be in control, have an action plan, and respond quickly and appropriately to any situation. Our ultimate goal is to help you recognize danger, avoid danger, and defend yourself if necessary. Training at University of Sidekicks is an education, a lifestyle, and a family-bonding hobby.

We cultivate sheepdogs, who fight off the wolves of the world and defend the sheep.

If you are new to self-defense and martial arts, new in town, or looking for a new place to hang your training hat, we welcome you to University of Sidekicks. We encourage you to visit our facility and meet Master Nolte and staff. Active military, law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs receive a discount membership.

Master Nolte has a way of putting people at ease, but at the same time she let’s us know that she is a no nonsense type of person. The Krav Maga training I have received at Sidekicks has been anything but boring. I have yet to walk away from a class and say to myself, “What a waste of time that was.” I learn something new at every session. As a diabetic, the Krav class has helped tremendously in controlling my sugar levels. The medication just wasn’t enough to bring my sugar levels down to where they needed to be. I noticed, in a short amount of time, that the exercise I was receiving in class started to bring my sugar levels down, and now they are consistently right on the money. My wife made the comment the other night that I look and act like I am feeling much better. Krav Maga is a class that everyone can benefit from.

Renee Nolte is a GREAT Martial Artist and Instructor. I have trained with her for a couple of years now and have nothing but good things to say about her and her programs! She is hard working and dedicated to turning out good martial artist. Renee doesn’t give anything away…you earn what you get! I highly recommend Renee and the Krav Maga system to civilians and law enforcement alike. It is a excellent self defense system. You learn defensive skills and you get in shape! Both of which are necessary to survive in a Win Confrontation!
